Fourth edition of my eBook: Bible truths you won’t hear at church

As many of you know, I wrote an article back in April of 2017 titled Why I Couldn’t Return To Church, which was eventually renamed to Bible truths you won’t hear at church in its third edition on July 7 of 2023 (with its second edition being titled Nearly everything we learned at church was wrong: What the Bible actually teaches about sex, hell, tithing, and much more on September 2 of 2018), by which point it had been expanded into a full, book-length study that I referred to as an eBook. This eBook was just a web page here on this website, however, and all of its supporting references were simply links, and so I’ve had many people request a printable version over the years. Well, more than seven years later (on September 7 of 2024), after a lot of hard work, the time has finally come. I’ve now completed the fourth edition of this eBook, and this time it’s available as a free, printable PDF.

This new edition is a major update to the book, and I don’t believe a single paragraph went untouched (with some chapters not only being heavily rewritten, but the contents of some of them being entirely rearranged among each other as well).

One of the major changes I made to this book that I should talk about here is that all of the scriptural references are now from one Bible translation. You see, there are a number of people out there who won’t consider theological arguments based on the CLV (the Concordant Literal Version, which is the Bible translation that most of us English-speaking members of the body of Christ tend to favour), and there are even some who won’t consider scriptural references from anything other than this one particular Bible version, and so, A) because I wanted to reach the largest audience possible, B) because it’s one of the most popular and recognizable Bible versions anyway, not to mention C) because it means I don’t have to worry about copyright issues, while previous editions of this book did use other Bible versions as well, all scriptural references are now solely from the KJV (the King James Version).

And while this might come as just as much of a surprise to many believers within the body of Christ as it will to traditional, “orthodox” Christians who are already aware of some of our beliefs, what you’ll learn while reading this book is that every one of the core doctrines of “Concordant” believers is indeed taught in the KJV, all without contradicting it (at least when it’s interpreted consistently — “consistent” being what the word “concordant” means, after all).

I should also say, even if you’re already quite familiar with the scriptural interpretations and arguments used to prove the core doctrines that we “Concordant” believers hold to, I’d still recommend checking this updated version of the book out, if you have the time, because you’ll likely find new takes on many of our scriptural proofs that you might not have considered before.

And so, I present to you the fourth edition of Bible truths you won’t hear at church: Learn what Scripture really says about sex, hell, tithing, and much more, which you can read or download for free as a PDF at: www.concordantgospel.com/pdf

Or, if you prefer to read it in an eReader or eBook app, here’s a zipped ePub version of the book instead (also available for free): www.concordantgospel.com/epub

And if you really did prefer the old web-page format, the fourth version is available for free that way as well: www.concordantgospel.com/ebook
